Week 4: Foundation backfill

With the passing of the waterproofing inspection, we carefully back-filled around the new foundation.  Now we can turn back to a little more demolition work... sigh.

Week 3: Walls

Rock concrete operated like clockwork, as per usual.  In one day, they delivered, formed and poured the foundation walls.  The next day, they stripped the forms, prepped and cleaned the walls, removed the forms and waterproofed!  Hmmm... I wonder if there was a World Cup game they were getting ready for on Friday!

Week 2: Footings and bench pinning

Phil, Miguel's footing guy, was in at the start of the week to layout the footings.  After pouring, I was able to get Thom in there to form and pour the bench pinning (kind of like underpinning, but poured in one shot to allow for a deeper basement level for the rec room).

Week 1: Demo begins

While we did have to do some manual demo inside, it was really just for parts that the machine couldn't reach.  Artur from BR was in this week to take down the roof and half the walls and excavate the back.
