Week 13: Concrete Week

Some people have Shark Week, we here at TPM have Concrete Week :-)!  Thom's guys were hard at work prepping then pouring the basement and garage this week.  We managed to sneak the sump pit into the furnace room by extending the pit into the lowest area of the floor and pouring around it.  This means the sump pump is at the correct (lowest) level, but not in the middle of the family room.

Week 12: HVAC Begins

One heating and cooling option on larger, modern houses, is to put in an upstairs and downstairs furnace.... this separates heating and cooling needs of the 2nd, 1st and basement levels.  In this house, the client has opted for a Carrier motorized damping system so it's like a virtual 2nd floor unit whereby 2nd floor and 1st floor thermostats talk to each other to correct how much air is flowing into each volume. The guys from Pinewood finished the 2nd floor duct runs this week and are heading downstairs.

Week 11: Clean up

It's like we've been a giant garbage storage site for the past 5-6 weeks.  I like to keep the site clean, but up until framing and roofing is done, the marginal gains of constant clean up don't add up.  Finally this week we were able to completely fill this 40 yard garbage bin with all the waste from the house.

Week 10: Windows

John from A&J Windows had the windows installed this week.  There was an error with one window and we decided to add a new window (that we had previously removed!) in the back, but John is the best for addressing issues and he quickly came up with a plan to fix the one window and order a new window for the back.  Great service!

Week 9: Securing the structure

Nelson's team worked on getting all of the posts in (wood and steel) so that Ted could come by at the end of the week and weld all of the steel beams together.
