Week 13: Concrete Week

Some people have Shark Week, we here at TPM have Concrete Week :-)!  Thom's guys were hard at work prepping then pouring the basement and garage this week.  We managed to sneak the sump pit into the furnace room by extending the pit into the lowest area of the floor and pouring around it.  This means the sump pump is at the correct (lowest) level, but not in the middle of the family room.

Week 2: Footings and bench pinning

Phil, Miguel's footing guy, was in at the start of the week to layout the footings.  After pouring, I was able to get Thom in there to form and pour the bench pinning (kind of like underpinning, but poured in one shot to allow for a deeper basement level for the rec room).

Week 39: Cleaning up

Well, Enbridge has been a royal pain to work with this year.  Despite having a great relationship with the subcontracting installer, they have delayed and delayed.  With stepped up pressure, we finally got our gas service installed 2 days before moving in!  So this week, we started the clean up process..... the full cleaning crew was in, the duct cleaners did their work and Mick got the garage floor finished with an epoxy coating.  Finally, George activated the alarm and cameras in the house.
